DAY 9

Day nine, our last day. Our flight home was going to take of 2 am. So we went up already at 9 pm so we shouldn’t have to stress through the whole morning. We went down to the restaurant to eat from the hotel breakfast one last time, it felt so sad. After we had packed our stuff together we took our rented car and drove to Malaga. We returned the car to MalagaCars. And headed off to the airport.

When we were in the Taxfree I looked in my wallet and realized that I had plenty of money left. And I have this tradition on every vacation we’re going to. That when I have money left from my vacation money I always spend it in the tax-free on the airport. Which is like a heaven, Walk around there and be able to buy fancy makeup things, perfumes or whatever you want. I don’t know why but I don’t see it like spending money on unnecessary things. Since I’ve put the money away for just this vacation there isn’t anything more right to do than spend it on this vacation. Our flight took about four and a half hour so we arrived in Gothenburg about half-past six. The time after we had passed every security and got our luggage was like half past 7. Then it took like 1,5 to drive home from the airport and when we arrived I was super tired so I fell asleep.

DAY 8

Today I woke up in an extremely quiet room, my dad snatched my shoulder and whispered Maja, wake up. We did the same thing to my brother. He told us to quickly put on some clothes and then he gathered us outside the room. Today was mom’s birthday. We went to a baking store right across the street and bought this big fancy princess cake.  If mom would have got to choose I know she would pick another but this one looked so pretty so we had to buy it. We went back to the hotel and surprised mom with the cake and some song. She got super happy even though she isn’t a big fan of princess cakes.

Today we were going to explore Marbella’s viewed from the ocean. We had bought boat tickets online at a site that was called likelovedo. It was ticketed for a trip that took us from Puerto Banos to Marbella and from Marbella and back to Puerto Banos. The boat was called Fly blue and was like a yacht/catamaran look alike boat, Anyway, the trip was going to take about 4 hours with the return. So after breakfast, we walked down to the port, it was like a 5 minutes walk. The port was incredible, It was filled with yacht boats, it was like I could feel the huge cash flow in the air. We jumped on the boat and took four sites. I had already downloaded some Podcasts that I could list too but mom wanted me to be social so the Podcast episodes had to wait. We discussed what we thought about the trip this far, but we sadly realized that we only had one day left. Anyways my dad thought that the trip was good but we would like to stay longer at some place. I understood and agreed Because technically 25% of the trip was about packing and switching place. When we arrived in Marbella we sat down at a Lunch restaurant that was called Genri Sushi Bar. They served super nice sushi. I like sushi, but not too often. Sky Blue took us home to Puerto Banos again and this time I got to listen to my podcast the whole ride.

After we arrived at the port we went back to our hotel. Tonight mom had chosen a restaurant. Mesiko was the name of the restaurant. They served Mexican and Japanese food. It was delicious but expensive. I took chicken fajitas and a coke. Mom took a fancy version of a burrito. Dad took some weird octopus soup and my brother took a soup with seafood. My mom and dad look each a drink after dinner and my brother and I split a cheesecake. When we sat at the restaurant we realized that we were leaving tomorrow. It felt sad but also nice to get home. I had missed all my friends back home. After we had paid for the food we went back to the hotel and went to bed.

DAY 7

Today was the last day in Mallorca, Our flight was going to deport at 6 pm so we still had time to do something today, but we felt like the best way to enjoy it was just to relax. So after breakfast, we reserved 4 sunchairs at the roof went back to our room too put on some sun lotion. So we spent hours just laying there like four dead masks staring at the sun. At lunchtime, we ordered in some tapas. There was cheese, bruschettas, pizza slices, sausages and more. After lunch, we went back to the room to pack our stuff, fresh up and check out.

We flew with Iberia, an airline we had never flown with before. Anyway, the flight took 1,5 hours so we landed in Malaga about 19.30 pm. But we didn’t leave the airport until ten pm. The securities and get our luggage took like forever this time, And since we hadn’t eaten anything since lunch we had to stop by Mcdonalds. We had pre-rented a car at Malagacars.com that we could drive from Malaga to Marbella. It took like 45 minutes + 15 minutes to find a parking lot. We stayed at Marbella Club Hotel, a five-star hotel that seemed to be amazing but it was so late and we were so tired so we just checked in and then crashed in our room.

DAY 6

After a long night sleep, we woke up to the alarm at 10 am. Today we didn’t know what to expect. We had decided that we were going to take a taxi into Palma town, but what to do there we did not have a  clue about. So 12 pm the taxi was ready and we left to Palma. Since we hadn’t made any planes we asked the driver about stuff worth seeing in Palma. He told us to visit the cathedral and then walk from there over to the port and from the port to the shopping streets. So that’s what we did, we got dropped off at the cathedral. which was so beautiful. Dad searched for some facts about it and it turned out to be about 700 years old. That is so cool. Then we walked over to the port, but unfortunately, the port wasn’t as cool. So we continue walking. We walked through some beautiful buildings, it reminded me of Haga in Gothenburg, but a little more colourfull. The shopping in Palma was okay I guess. It mostly was stores like Gucci and Louis Vuitton but I found a few things at Zara And HM.

After the shopping we had to eat, the time had run away from us and it was already 4 pm. We sat down at an Italian restaurant that was called Ribello. I ate this amazing truffle pasta. My dad ate the same and my mom and brother took a pizza. And again I just got to say that I love Italian food. I seriously don’t understand people who don’t like it. We decided to order in some deserts as well. I looked a panna cotta, my brother took a cheesecake and mom and dad sheared a mud cake. We probably sat at that restaurant for three hours. We had such a nice time, everyone was happy, the service was great, the food was great and they had this live singer who sat in a corner and sang cosy love songs in the background. So we didn’t order a taxi back home until the time was almost 8.  Back at the hotel mom and dad went to the hotel bar to take a drink and my brother and i went up to our room to watch a movie. We were going to watch Toy Story 2 but I fell asleep about 10 minutes into the movie so My brother had to watch it himself.

DAY 5

Today we had set an alarm at 8 am because we needed to start the day early to have enough time. Today we were going to drive around the island. We rented a Hyundai ix35 at a car rental that was called Sixt car rental. They were super nice and not too overpriced. We started our trip by following the road that went across the island, we ended up in Alcudia. Alcudia was a small village on the other side of Mallorca. It was beautiful by the ocean but there wasn’t so much to do there so we continue driving. We drove west from Alcudia end ended up in the village Soller. Soller was so cool. like a street placed just in front of the beach. The street was full of different restaurants. in the back of the restaurants, there were plenty of houses. About 500 meters away there was a port full of different boats.  The coolest thing about Soller was probably the tree train that drove by the ocean. By the time we were in Soller we got hungry and since there was like 50 different restaurants to choose from we just picked one. Which was pretty stupid done. We picked a restaurant that had like everything, and that is usually a sign for bad food. A restaurant that serves Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Asian food is not very often good at making food. But since they have so much on the menu people will be like oh there is so much I like on this menu, let’s eat here.

Anyway, we continue driving by the ocean the way home to Palma. It took a while but it was nice. The road is so high up and the view is amazing. When we got home to the hotel we all were so tired. I got surprised by how much energy it took from you to be sitting in a car all day. We decided to order some room service, mom regretted that after she saw the bill but the food was great.

DAY 4

Today we were going to leave Madrid, it felt pretty sad and I would have loved to stay longer. Madrid is a big city and there is plenty of things to do here. It felt like I wasn’t done in some way. Anyway, we were going to Palma the Mallorca today, which of course was going to be super fun. We took a cab from our hotel to the airport at about 10 am. Our flight departed at 1 pm so we had enough time. We flew with Ryanair and the flight took only 1,5 hours. So we landed in Palma about half past 2 pm. After we had gone through all securities we took a taxi to our hotel. The hotel was placed not very far from the airport so it didn’t take that long to get there. We stayed at Melia Palma Bay in a room with two double beds on the 7th floor. The view was amazing. We had a swimming pool on the roof and the ocean just in front of the hotel. It was beautiful. The rest of the day we enjoyed the spa and in the evening we also eat at the hotel restaurant which was great.

DAY 3

Today I woke up to unusually happy parents, today was their day for sure. Mom and dad had planned the whole day. From morning to evening. So today we were going to rent 4 bikes and explore Madrid “Yeeey”:’( I would much rather enjoy the great weather in a sunchair but yup, Bike Trip it was. We rented our bikes at Rutas Pangera. They had like a hundred different bikes. So my mom and i choosed what we in Sweden call in a ladies’ bike. My Dad and brother chose mountain bikes. It actually turned out to be quite fun. We were riding our bikes around Madrid and watched cool buildings and statues. We saw the Cibeles Fountaine at Plaza De Cibeles. The fountain is one of Madrid’s most important symbols. We also saw the Temple of Debod, Which is a temple Madrid got as a gift from Egypt 1968 when Madrid helped Egypt save one of their temple’s.

At Lunchtime we rode to Puerta De Sol. Puerta De Sol is one of the most famous places in Madrid, and It’s very busy. We found a lunch restaurant near by so we decided to eat lunch there. The restaurant was called Casa Labra and as you can hear by the name it was a Spanish restaurant. The food was okay, not the greatest but it was okay. I eat a Paella with seafood. After lunch we rode back to Rutas Pangera (the renting store) to return our bikes.  We realized then that we had plenty of time over, so we went to a well known ice cream bar to buy some ice cream. The name of the bar was Mistura, I did not regret going there that’s for sure. It was probably one of the greatest ice creams I’ve ever have had.

We went back to the hotel to fresh up before the restaurant. The restaurant’s name was Dstage. Dstage is a pretty exclusive restaurant in Madrid. It is ranked number 22 of all 10 869 restaurants in Madrid. The restaurant was different from the others we had been at in Madrid. The design of everything was so special. The food was different, the plates were different, everything was different. In this case, I would say that different is good. After the restaurant, we went back to the hotel and finished the day watching some TV together.  To summarise the day I would say that you shouldn’t be so prejudging. That you shouldn’t expect so much from something before it happens.

DAY 2

We all woke up by the alarm mom had set to 9 am. Í felt like I had slept a week when it actually was like 10 hours. Today it was 25 degrees outside so I was super excited for the day. We went down to the first floor to eat some breakfast from the breakfast buffet. It was probably the best breakfast buffet I’d ever had. They had everything. Fruit, bread, dessert, smoothie, bacon, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, regular eggs, And more and more.

Today we were going to watch a match between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. We bought the tickets’ online a couple months ago. They were really expensive but to be able to see an El Classico match live,  It’s worth it. The match was going to start at 2 pm but to get there in time we had to leave the hotel by 12:15. The streets were full of soccer-crazy people and you could feel the tension in the air. When we arrived at the stadium we had to go through a lot of securities, which is really good but it took like forever to do. The match was 100% intense from the start whistle. 0-1 Lionel Messi scored. – 1-1 Gareth Bale scored. 2-1 Luka Modric scored. The game ended 2-1 to Real Madrid, just as I wanted. My dad and brother weren’t as happy as I, they wanted Barcelona to win.

After the match, we walked straight to a restaurant where we had reserved a table. The restaurant had a good reputation and was a bit fancier than we were in our Soccer t-shirts, yes it was pretty embarrassing. The food anyway was delicious, I absolutely love Italian food. I had a pizza margarita with buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil. LOOOOVELY.  As a dessert, I took an Italian gelato (ice cream) With strawberry and cheesecake flavour. Also LOOOOVELY. After that, we went back to the hotel and watch some tv and then went to bed.

DAY 1

When we were heading to the airport the stress was all over the family. I seem to be the only one who was totally ready and had not forgotten a single thing. So instead of being forced to hear all the screaming and running around, I went down to the car to wait there. I had brought my pillow as always so I could sleep on the way to the airport. I just remember waking up after my two hours of sleep. “-Maja vi är framme på flygplatsen she said” Even though it was pretty early in the morning and I was very tired I got super excited when my mom told me we were at the airport. Our flight was leaving in about 1 hour and since the Landvetter airport is pretty small we had enough time. The flight to Madrid took five hours so we landed at one pm. We flew with Lufthansa as we usually do. I like Lufthansa, the air hostess is always so nice and the flights are almost never canceled.

When I got out from the plane I could feel the heat down my throat when I was breathing. Ahhh finally I thought to myself, At this time the weather in Sweden was not so good, so be able to go away like this to get some real summer felt fantastic. After we had passed all the securities and got our luggage we all were starving. So we stopped by Subway in the tax-free and bought each a sub to go. Outside the airport, we had a taxi driver waiting on us with a sign saying “Vangstad”. The Taxi driver got all appalled when we asked if we could eat our sandwiches in the car so we had to wait until we arrived at the hotel. The taxi took us to our five-star hotel, placed just in the middle of Madrid. Our rooms were magical but more of the hotel we didn’t manage to see. My family and I were super tired after the long day so we all fell asleep at 9 pm.
